I’m pretty sure the majority of us have been in either Cammie’s or Josh’s or Nick’s or Gina’s (Nick’s girlfriend that he brings home with him) shoes at one time or another. I was particularly pleased with how this novella kept the dialogue and action completely believable. How will they do this? With a time proven method - make the other guy jealous! Before moving to Washington, Burkey attended college in Ohio where she majored in theater with a minor in creative writing. Although she is from Ohio, she has been enjoying life in the Pacific Northwest for the last 7 years. Cammie is very upset by this so she and Josh hatch a plan to win Nick back. Dana Burkey is a self-published author living in Washington State. She and her good friend Josh discover that Cammie’s old crush is back in town for the summer. Just Pretending is a romance novella that follows the story of sixteen-year-old Cammie. ![]() Normally I abhor love triangles, but I thought this one was handled believably. What a cute little novella! Absolutely young adult appropriate - a quick and fun read.
